NEW OFFERING THIS YEAR,
We’re offering 3 DAY CAMPS this year, July 2, July 3, and July 4th.
These day camps will NOT include a performance but will focus on building improv skills and getting creative with arts & crafts. For those never been to Dramarama before, these day camps can offer a glimpse into what our full Dramarama sessions are like.
Separate of our full two week sessions offered, these days camps are $60 per day and run during the hours of,
Morning Drop-Off: 8:45am – 9:00am
Camp Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm
Afternoon Pick-Up: 3:00pm – 3:15pm

Those born in 2011 or older and interested in applying to be Leaders In Training, are encouraged to email the Artistic Director directly at [email protected] This is a volunteer, unpaid position with the ability to obtain community hours and learn valuable leadership skills along the way. Often our leaders in training end up becoming our workshop leaders in future years.

PLAYMAKING OF COURSE! Group Activities, Music, Prop & Set Construction and Design, Production, Drama, Dance, Outside Time at Memorial and Matheson Park, 2 Snack Breaks & 1 Lunch Break.

The History of Dramarama
From its inception in 1994, Thistle Theatre found it important to involve young people in theatre. In fact, of the 18 main productions produced over the years, 12 have featured children.
Dramarama, a summer camp program originally for children ages 7-14, was first led by Bernice Finch in 1996. A teacher who returned to her Embro roots in retirement, Bernice profoundly touched many young people with her leadership in her 10 year tenure as Artistic Director. In August of 2023, Bernice passed away peacefully. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Every summer since 1996, close to 50 children benefit from the confidence they find participating in Dramarama.
Dramarama has been supported by many individuals over the years and without their dedication and support, this camp wouldn’t still be what it is today.
